Heffer explores the life and work of Sid James, who was at the heart of the very successful Carry On films and one of the best-loved and most easily recognised comic actors of his day.
Simon traces James's journey from his years in repertory theatre, through bit-parts in British comic films and to his years of triumph in the Carry Ons before his dramatic death on stage in 1976.
