Comedians Jon Richardson and Matt Forde are to present The Warm Up, a football-based show on the radio station talkSPORT.

The pair will present the build-up show to talkSPORT's live Premier League coverage every Saturday, with the station confirming the aim is to "give a fan perspective of the weekend's football action as well as a comedic take on the big sports stories of the week".

Stand-up comic Matt Forde has been a talkSPORT presenter for over five years, but this will be the first time he has been joined on the station by Jon Richardson. The two comedians are best friends, and have previously appeared together on the Channel 4 series Jon Richardson Grows Up (pictured).

Nottingham Forest fan Matt Forde says: "I've worked a lot with Jon and he's an incredibly talented guy and I know that the talkSPORT audience will love him. Football is hugely exciting to our listeners and this is a great slot as people will be listening while they get ready to listen or go to the match. I'm really looking forward to it."

Jon Richardson, a Leeds United supporter, adds: "I can't wait to get back on the radio and Saturday mornings on talkSPORT with Matt is the perfect place. I'm not a natural optimist, but even I feel like anything is possible on a Saturday morning before the reality of 16:45 sets in and with it the autopsies and the blame."
