Setting targets

All writers need a target, something to aim for.

Just writing with no idea what you're trying to achieve might be fun, but it's unlikely to lead to the professional success we assume you want.

It's important therefore (even if, at this stage, you're operating completely alone) to set some targets for yourself.

The first thing to remember is that,

Your targets should spur you on, not grind you down

If the targets you've set yourself feel like an excessive burden, then perhaps they aren't the right targets.

Of course, writing is work - but, ultimately, it should be...
