Karl Marx: The Hacienda Years

Spec sitcom pilot script imagining if a rowdy and youthful Karl Marx & Frederich Engels had turned up in Manchester in its 1990s heyday rather than the 1850s. Well-meaning but clueless, the lads are more interested in pills, thrills and bellyaches than the plight of the working poor. In Manchester's resurgent decade, with the help of local heroes from across history (from the Pankhursts, to the Gallaghers, Tony Wilson et al), they slowly assemble a world-changing vision.
