Review: Eaten By Lions

Mostly charming cultural identity comedy, featuring a cast of beloved British comedians.

Katherine McLaughlin, The List, 25th March 2019

The format of this riotous chatshow often seems flimsy. So it's a testament to Narstie's charisma - and the chemistry between him and Mo Gilligan - that it works as well as it does. Tonight's guests include Leeds scrapper Nicola Adams and comedian Johnny Vegas, whose gift for chaos should suit the show perfectly.

Review: Death On The Tyne, Christmas Gold

It was pretty brave of Gold to schedule this one-off film on primetime on a Saturday night in the run-up to Christmas. But then the channel had reason to be ambitious. Their previous all-star Agatha Christie spoof starring Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson, Murder on the Blackpool Express, was the highest-ever rating show on Gold. They will be hoping for the same here. And they might just get it.

Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 16th December 2018

If you enjoyed last year's Murder on the Blackpool Express it's safe to say you have a treat in store. Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson reprise their roles of lovestruck coach driver and tour guide in a new adventure that sees passengers and crew bumped off one by one on a turbulent ferry trip from Newcastle to Amsterdam.

Death On The Tyne preview

Gold is primarily a reruns channel, so it's no surprise that its big commission is slightly old-fashioned in feel.

Death on the Tyne, Gold, review

Another crude, silly and very funny outing.
