Nancy Banks-Smith, The Guardian, 19th February 1980I checked the second assertion by listening to Radio 2's panel game Funny You Should Ask (Mondays) featuring this week three renowned comedy writers, Sid Colin, Barry Cryer and John Junkin. They turned out to be amiable men, uninclined to say anything nasty about anyone (thereby excluding the easiest forms of wit), knowledgeable about their own business and with a capacity for banal anecdotage which would lose them their audience even at a school prize-giving.
