Graham Norton interview
After stints as a comedian and as an actor in Father Ted, Graham Norton found his forte as a chat show host.
Vicki Power, The Daily Express, 26th October 2013The Graham Norton Show has real A-list quality tonight
Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Cher and Jennifer Saunders make for a vintage line-up on the BBC One chat show.
Jane Simon, The Mirror, 25th October 2013You could play a game of consequences with Graham Norton's guests this week. Norton once shared screen time with guest Michelle Pfeiffer in a film called I Could Never Be Your Woman. Pfeiffer was of course in The Witches of Eastwick with Cher. And Jennifer Saunders once did a rather fine Cher impression/parody on her sketch show. Whether the guests will be sharing memories of all this may depend on whether they can stop the famously outgoing Robert De Niro from hogging the conversation.
David Butcher, Radio Times, 25th October 2013Everyone loves sparks flying on the chatshow circus and the best chance of a meltdown tonight looks likely to come from the wayward Britney Spears as she drops by for a chinwag with Alan Carr.
Will he ask her opinion on twerking Miley Cyrus? Also making merry with Carr are Olympic hero Mo Farah and actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, plus music from Jake Bugg, while Graham Norton has landed Paul McCartney, Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, James Corden and Katy Perry.
Carol Carter and Larushka Ivan-Zadeh, Metro, 18th October 2013The mighty Graham Norton returned to his Friday night chat-berth last week, when he was greeted with open arms by viewers, and tonight the slightly less mighty Ross is back. The unspoken but received wisdom is that Norton gets the good guests, but the opening show is stellar. Tom Hanks is the guest everyone wants because he's a pro - easy-going, effortlessly funny, he knows what's required of him and he delivers. He'' with Ross tonight to talk about his new film Captain Phillips, based on the true story of the hijacking of a ship by Somali pirates. The word "Oscar" is already being bandied about. Fellow guest Sandra Bullock could be up for glittering prizes too with her new film Gravity, about stranded astronauts.
Alison Graham, Radio Times, 12th October 2013Graham Norton: 'Being gay is easy, being camp is hard'
From growing up a Protestant in the Republic of Ireland, Graham Norton has always seen himself as an outsider.
Matthew Stadlen, The Telegraph, 12th October 2013The battle of the Friday night chat shows is rejoined, with Graham Norton returning to the pitch Channel 4 rival Alan Carr has had to himself these past few weeks.
Norton is hitting big on opening night, with Hollywood legend Harrison Ford, on the promo trail for new movie Ender's Game, and the versatile Benedict Cumberbatch dropping by for a chat and Jack Whitehall providing the funnies.
Carol Carter and Larushka Ivan-Zadeh, Metro, 11th October 2013Jonathan Ross: 'I have bounce in my step again now'
Jonathan Ross says he is ready to reclaim his title from Graham Norton after admitting that ITV has yet to see the best of him.
Mark Jefferies, The Mirror, 11th October 2013MediaGuardian 100 2013 - 51. Graham Norton
With a Friday night BBC One chatshow and Saturday morning Radio 2 show, he is firmly entrenched as the face of BBC entertainment.
