Until Saturday night, reading from William Blake's Proverbs of Hell wouldn't have made it in to a guide called How To Win Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year. But that the reading - mischievously scattered with the comic's own inventions (such as "What makes golf so hard is that the holes are so small") - drew such big laughs illustrated just how creative and unconventional Alasdair Beckett-King's material was.
