Daisy May Cooper

Audible has announced a new batch of shows, with Daisy May Cooper and Dara O Briain making their first podcast series via the platform. There's also new podcast series coming from Lolly Adefope and Mo Gilligan.

The spoken-word entertainment company also confirmed that From The Oasthouse: The Alan Partridge Podcast will return for Series 3, The Kurupt FM Podkast has been renewed for a third run, French and Saunders: Titting About will return for Series 4 and it has given a second series to Jack Whitehall's Safe Space.

The company explains: "Audible's 2023 comedy slate sees Daisy May Cooper host her first ever podcast. Daisy hates reading ('...apart from Take A Break magazine'); but in her new series, Educating Daisy, she bravely invites celebrity guests including Tim Key, Diane Morgan and Katie Price, to try to convince her to give their favourite classic novel a try... with mixed results.

"Elsewhere, fans of celebrity musings can indulge in Lolly Adefope's Fanmail, in which the actress and character comedian invites 'fans' and fellow celebrities (a raft of A-list actor cameos from the UK and US) to come on the show and ask important questions like, 'why do you love me so much?' And - 'what is it about me that you love so much?'. This new series from Lolly Adefope is produced by Baby Cow, the award-winning production team behind Steve Coogan's From The Oasthouse: The Alan Partridge Podcast.

Dara O Briain

"Also hosting his first ever podcast is comedian Dara O Briain. Timewasters is a new panel show format, in which fellow comics competitively offer up hilarious and painfully relatable stories of when their lives and time have been most comprehensively wasted - from weeks sunk on failed fitness fads, to hours frittered away on property websites angrily drooling over homes you will never live in...

"Mo Gilligan's Spotlight is a new stand-up show which will shine a light on some of the freshest names in British comedy. Each episode, recorded live in a London comedy club, sees the triple BAFTA-winning comedian hosting a hand-picked bill of British stand-ups, spotlighting some of the UK's most exciting, but currently under-represented, comedic voices.

"Also coming to Audible Plus are a number of stand-up specials, including Noel Fielding, Stewart Lee, Jo Brand, Eddie Izzard and more."

The launch date for each series will be announced in due course. All the shows will be exclusive to Audible. A free trial is available

Aurelie de Troyer from the company says: "Audible is shaping up to be the home of comedy in 2023. Alongside our existing critically-acclaimed and award-winning slate, we're delighted to be investing in both up-and-coming voices, as well as bringing A-list British comic talent to our audience."
