"Blunder" Preview

Blunder, an ensemble sketch show featuring six of the UK's brightest young comedy writers and performers, starts on Channel 4 this Friday (24th November) at 10:35pm (or you can see it first on E4 on Thursday).

Shot before a live studio audience the series features a colourful array of cartoonish characters and oddballs played by David Mitchell (Peep Show), Simon Farnaby (Spoons), Rhys Thomas (The Fast Show), Nina Conti (Bromwell High), Tom Meeten (Mighty Boosh) and Tony Way (Extras).

Regular characters featured on Blunder include:

  • Tom Meeten
    • The Baron – a hyperactive puerile madman who claims to be the most evil man in the world
    • Karate Johnson – a marshal arts expert who tells morality tales, while revealing a little more than he should.
    • Franco Franco – a Euro style crooner who sings inappropriate songs about his unfortunate family.

  • David Mitchel
    • Colonel Rudd – a maverick wannabe vet who ill-advisedly uses his animal practises on humans.
    • Edgar Ford - a doddery old man, who's unlikely to make it to Christmas.
    • Nigel Livid – the bloke who is constantly annoyed by today's poor TV shows.

  • Rhys Thomas
    • Tollund Man – a 2,000 year old peat bog man who has come back to life.
    • Malibu Man – he gets randy on malibu and tries it on with a member of the audience.
    • Frank – his bodily functions cause him to always be in a dilemma.

  • Tony Way
    • Mr Whippy – a domineering father who won't let his son get a word in.
    • Emperor Boswellox – He's conquered moons along with his followers, but his memory isn't quite so superhuman.

  • Nina Conti
    • Trish – a woman who can only talk in a 'comedy' language.
    • Pru the Bored Housewife - who does unspeakable things with household appliances.

  • Simon Farnaby
    • Stuart Ogilvy – a frustrated middle-aged, middle-class golfer who literally gets steamed up about what's wrong with society.
    • Mighty Mouse – A race horse who is unlucky in love
