Not Going Out records ratings rise

Not Going Out draws to a close tomorrow night with a second series a strong possibility. Ratings for the BBC1 sitcom were up again last Friday to 3.6 million (the previous episode pulled in 3.2 million viewers). Episode one attracted 2.8 million, up to 3 million for episode two and three. "That's very much against the grain for new programmes, and it cheers me up no end," co-writer, Andrew Collins, told the British Sitcom Guide.

The show centres around two flatmates, Lee (Bafta-award winning comic Lee Mack) and Kate (Megan Dodds: Viva Blackpool and Spooks), who have a problem. Their easy-going, comfortable friendship is steadily moving into uncharted waters – a situation complicated by the fact that Lee's best mate, Tim (fellow Bafta winner and stand-up, Tim Vine), is Kate's ex-boyfriend.
