Bafta-winning comedian Karen Taylor has been given the go ahead for a second series of her irreverent BBC3 sketch show Touch Me, I'm Karen Taylor.

BBC controller of comedy commissioning Lucy Lumsden, and BBC3 controller Danny Cohen gave the comedian the green light for a second series. In total, the BBC have ordered another seven new episodes.

Lumsden said: "We're delighted Karen Taylor and her brilliant range of quirky characters will be returning to BBC3; she's proved a great addition to female led comedy on the channel."

The new series of Touch Me, I'm Karen Taylor, which is made by Avalon Television, is being produced by Richard Grocock and directed by Ben Kellett. It will be shown on BBC3 in 2008.

The first series of the sketch show, which was broadcast on BBC3 last summer, met a mixed reaction. See our forum discussion to sample this.
