Scott Bennett: Blood Sugar Baby

Scott Bennett: Blood Sugar Baby
Stand-up
  • 4th May 2025 - 6th Aug 2025

One family, one condition, one hell of a hairy baby. Scott Bennett's new show Blood Sugar Baby tells the amazing story of how his infant daughter fell ill with a rare genetic condition.

Yes, it's a show about an ill baby, but it's a really funny one, with a happy and hopeful ending.

As heard on the Parenting Hell podcast, two soulmates are taken from the idyllic world of NCT classes and plunged into months of treatments, genetics, bizarre side effects, private jets and celebrity encounters...

This is a show about trusting your gut, even when you - and everyone else - don't know what you're dealing with; when your baby is seriously ill with a condition so rare it's life or death, and having the courage to question the experts.

Scott says: "It's taken over a decade to find the humour in this amazing family story, and to have the courage to tell it. No-one ever talks about what it's like when parenting goes off-piste, when a baby is sick, and I don't mean a 'syringe of Calpol sick', I mean seriously ill, with a condition so rare, we didn't even know it existed. It marked the start of an incredible family adventure with an unbelievable outcome."
