Pete Teckman has won the Not So New Comedian Of The Year competition.

The comic, from Northampton, who was drawn first to appear of the 12 acts, won the crowd over with his jokes about his height, hair loss, relationship with his wife and other topics. He has been performing comedy since making his debut in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competition in 2008, and previously won the Silver Stand Up competition in Leicester in 2017.

The live final took place tonight at London's Museum Of Comedy, with Will Duggan as host. Each act had five minutes on stage.

The judges picked Sallyann Fellowes as runner-up with Javier coming third.

Aside from the prestige of winning, Teckman picked up a bowling-themed trophy and £250. Second place was awarded £125, with £75 for third position.

Unlike new act competitions, this competition - as the title may suggest - is aimed at acts who have been gigging for a while but have yet to have a big break. The competition's blurb explains: "Forget cheery optimism and skinny jeans. At last, a competition for comics who've been around long enough to know better. Expect a high standard and a hint of world weary cynicism as 100 not so new acts compete for the title of Not So New Comedian of the Year. The old ones are the best!"

The other finalists were Adam Larter, Arielle Souma, Garrie Grubb, Georgia Thorp, Mark Flynn, Matt Smith, Saban Kazim, Simon Jay and Zoe Brownstone.
