Seems to be if you go back, having been somewhere else for any length of time. Only log in if you're submitting something, and just browse the site normally you should be okay. It should still keep you logged into the forums anyway. If you do get 'application error', open a new browser and go back. All this said, it's a shoddily-coded website.
