Skippy Franco tells the story of a clown Frank (Damon Jeffery) suffering an identity crisis as he is followed by a documentary crew as he embarks on entering a competition, Clown Idol to prove his worth to himself and the woman he loves. His efforts to win the competition are squandered at every corner by his best friend and fellow clown Fat Eddy (James Cotter) who usually is to intoxicated to know what's going on.
