RIP John Sullivan Page 3

Not a single mention of Green Green Grass yet.

At least no more Rock n Chips or Only Fools 'specials'

Just read it. Lovely tribute.

He was 29 days younger than me. Scary. :(

Close Aaron, Heartburn Hotel co-written with Steve Glover.

That's the one. Always get that title wrong!

RIP to one of the greats. And another shout out here for Dear John, oft forgetten show.

RIP to a man who never allowed swearing to interfere with his comedy writing.

Some national papers such as the Sun only managed an appallingly lazy acknowledgement on about page seven, accompanied by a picture of Del Boy falling through the bar.
For someone who probably provided more laughs than almost anyone to people in this country for over three decades that is slack.

Yes, it was a little odd that so many of the tabloids who pride themselves on their absolute 'Britishness' essentially sidelined this news.

Considering he's a writer, it's actually quite impressive The Sun mentioned him at all.

I remember their John Gielgud obit: "he will be best known to Sun readers as the butler in Arthur."

:D

I never watch Only Fools anymore as I've seen it too many times, but on the day he died (and without knowing about his death at all) I found one of those free newspaper DVDs in a charity shop of 'Dates', when Del met Raquel, which I hadn't seen in ages, and me and my family watched it and loved it. 80 minutes of poignancy, hilarity, and surely one of the greatest love stories in sitcom. A real poignancy to that ending.
