Beth Orton--Daybreaker

:) Good stuff - though 'Concrete Sky' is her best song, IMO...

Yes, I agree. Datbreaker is my favourite "getting ready for the day ahead" taking a shower cd. Trailer Park is a decent disk too.

My Mother having an unholy row on the phone with a mad woman about the arrangements for the meetings of her flower-arranging club! (???????????????????????????????? Mother takes the minutes at committee meetings!)

Been going on 20 minutes now. Just put the phone down on her, Mother!

:S

:D

EDIT: 30 minutes and still going... Rolling eyes

Tainted Love (extended version) Soft Cell

(as if the regular version isn't obnoxious enough)

Has anyone heard the original by Marc Bolan's missus? It's really good!

Thanks Roo, I'll have to find it.

I am listening to Jamie T - Chaka Demus.

No Pliers?

Cinema Bizarre - Blasphemy

Just read that Pavement are planning to get back together for some shows next year.

Cool.

Proper Northern Soul. :)

I've been reliving my early teens listening to some of my favourite 90s Canadian alternative artists and I thought I'd post a few videos from perhaps my favourite from that era 'Age of Electric'. I think their stuff still stands the test of time as quality. I always like when you guys post old alternative bands that I didn't hear of growing up so I thought I'd post these.

It took me a while to find some of these videos on YouTube but here they are:

Age of Electric -Remote Control

Age of Electric -I Don't Mind

Age of Electric's side project Limblifter Limblifter-Tinfoil

Limblifter-Ariel vs Lotus

All these songs are still staples on Canadian radio stations today. To bad they went the way of most bands...both bands broke up in the late 90s over 'creative differences'.
