NJ: Charity Terrorsism

[FX: Jingling charity coin tin]

CHARITY: Excuse me sir, I'm collecting for--

SHOPPER: I know your game, as soon as I give you some cash you'll be off to spend it on enriched uranium.

CHARITY:N-no, I'm collecting for cats--

SHOPPER:Suicide cats?

CHARITY:No! Poor abandoned domestic--

SHOPPER:Domestic terrorists! You admit it!

CHARITY:Domestic house cats. And dogs--

SHOPPER:The dogs of war no doubt.

CHARITY:Pet dogs. Like Afghan--

SHOPPER:Afghan insurgents?

CHARITY:Afghan hounds.

SHOPPER:Oh, well fine, here's a fiver.

CHARITY:Five pounds? That won't even buy a bomb vest for a hamster.

This is not a bad sketch, it just doesn't feel very Newsjack-y to me. I haven't seen the story it relates to, tbh, so I think a Justin intro would have helped a lot to set the scene.

Dan

"The dogs of war" was very funny. It's an incredibly neat and well-made sketch, but I have also not seen a news story that specifically links to it, and if there isn't one I suppose that pretty much bars it from Newsjack. Nicely wrtten, though.

Thanks for the feedback, in future I'll definitely try to include an intro. The story I was actually going for was this one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21534048 where three would-be suicide bombers posed as charity workers on the streets of Birmingham.
