Lolly stick gags Page 6

Obviously the cancer mug joke wasn't going to win

But the sync joke I reckon should have won. Your's are certainly original.

I liked the law suits gag.

The sync gag is lovely but I can see why it didn't win. It's not a lolly stick gag. It's a spoken aloud gag. Sync and sink are homophones rather than homonyms so spoken aloud it's terrific, but written down (on a stick) it'd feel a bit of a cheat.

Sync and sink are pronounced the same so it's a double entendre and cleverly played.

Law suits not bad.

Yes, I get that, as I said in my post - that's what 'homophone' means, two words with different meanings that sound the same. But as I say, there's only a double meaning when it's spoken aloud. In a visual medium, like the lolly stick, it doesn't really work because they're spelt differently, so there's no double meaning. It's a bit of a cheat.

Great gag for a stand up or a line of dialogue, but written down? Not really. Lovely joke though.

Why are the Epstein family so happy? Because everybody is celebrating the Jew Billy!

:D Boooh!
