The Office didn't begin until July 2001. Unless you're talking about Steven Moffat's 1996 pilot...

90s:The Office

The Office was first brodcast in 2001. Good choice though.

I'm very impressed with the liveliness of this site, no slouches here at this time of night. I meant to put The Office in the noughties, as you both correctly point out, and I make no apologies for inserting the US import "Friends" in the 90s slot as nothing else comes near IMHO.

What about I'm Alan Partridge?

Yes, you have a point but I've defended my choice in the Foreign Comedy section of this site.

I liked Freinds but I'm not the biggest fan of the show. But each to there own. I'm not a big fan of US shows apart from Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Simpsons.

60s: Steptoe and Son (Haven't seen much.)
70s: Are You Being Served?
80s: 'Allo 'Allo!
90s: The Vicar of Dibley (Not a huge fan of the 90s comedy. This was the best I could think of.)
2000s: The IT Crowd
