I bet you're always making Elliot pitch a tent, Robyn.

Oh my old man winter is trying to sneak in early. It was very chilly this weekend. Are all of you ready for the next season?

We like to have Autumn here first.

But to be fair all our seasons are starting to merge into one.

Makes me sad. I like distinct seasons.

We still have seasons!
Has been markedly colder recently, and will get moreso. The leaves have just started falling. And stuff.

All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey.

Yes, in California the leaves are brown and the sky is gray with smoke and ash.

Last night a friend of a friend took this photo of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena.

Awesome.

Awesome.

Another friend lives at least 10 miles from the fire and can see flames during daylight hours. All the smoke can't be doing the air quality much good and we all know what the rainy season will bring this winter: massive mudslides.

Fire crews are engaged in a herculean effort to save the antennas and transmitting facilities on top of Mount Wilson. All the L.A. television stations and many of the radio stations and mobile phone companies have antennas on top of the mountain. It would be a disaster if they were destroyed by the fire.

We've lost contact with relatives in that area...fingers, eyes and toes crossed everybody...

It's nippy tonight.

You got crabs?
