Iraq's Got Talent

An Iraqi man and woman walk onto the stage at 'Iraq's got Talent'.

The crowd are silent. The Iraqi judges look on waiting.

They are a magician and assistant act.

The magician helps his assistant into the famous guillotine contraption.

Suddenly with a flowing deadly swipe, the guillotine strikes. The magicians assistants head rolls onto the stage floor.

The crowd stand up, cheering and whistling. The judges stand up cheering and clapping.

The magician takes a bow in front of his assistants headless carcass.

JUDGES: Your through to the next round, well done!

It took me a couple of reads but I liked it, the last line was good.

Cracking idea - like it

That's fantastic and I love silent sketches.

One suggestion I'd make the fact that it's Iraq a surprise reveal at the end.

Good point there Sootyj - instead of the line at the end - I'd have a thumbs up from one of the judges

Hi Scotti - nice one - would definitely work better if you leave it to the end to say 'You're through to the next round of Iraq's got talent' - or a visual if you prefer, rather than the beginning. Do you have an actor in mind for the job. ;)

Laughing out loud

This is well funny. I love the fact that the beheading is the trick. Good stuff!

N.B. sequel?

A couple does the same thing but the assisstant survives and they get booed?

That a good point Soot, never thought of that. would have worked better actually. cheers.

Thought my Britains got Talent was better though. :)

Of the two I'd say this one's better. I think even BGT have realised that the sob stories are grating now and they've cut back on them. But this one feels fresher as it were. Following on from Sooty's suggestion you could have that the first chop doesn't cut the head off and they boo - then it works second time round and he goes through.

Either way is good though.

Agree with Jane there - this feels much fresher, if we can refer to decapitation like that...

It's SICK and racist!

The poor old axe, hardly ever gets mentioned these days.
