Writing gags for single cartoons...you interested?

Still working on my sitcom idea (now with two others onboard)

However:

Many moons ago I used to draw single cartoons for national newspapers.

Been thinking lately about doing it again this year some time.

Just wondered... if I did, would anyone be interested in writing gags?

Obviously I'd do my own stuff aswell but thought many of you may have material which could possibly be used. Maybe some of you may wish to just have a go at it.

My suggestion being, those that wanted to, would send me their ideas, I'd pick those that made me chuckle/feel would sell and draw them up and send them on.

Any that sell, we would go 50/50.

Back when I used to draw 'em the price varied up to £40 per single cartoon (that must of been 18 years ago 'ish) not sure how much more the fetch now.

Would anyone be interested?

I'd be interested. Although I'd probably find it hard to narrow jokes down that small. But it'll be good practice.

Yeah, I'll have a bash at that, Randon, is this like 3 panel cartoons?

I think he means a one off picture.

I'll give it a go too Random.

:)

no, not 3 panel.

It's single cartoons. 'Av a wee gander at a paper today, cartoon drawing, one line underneath (no conversation) everything has to happen 'visual to one line'

pleased in the interest :)

Ah, right, I don't buy the paper all too often.

I will PM you some jokes now :)

hello.
im interested.

Ok, please, please simply post on here if you are interested.

Please don't bombarded me with pm's of ideas just yet.:D

This post was just to find out if their was any interest and if so, how much.

:)

I'd love to and my writing is more fertile than the Napa valley.

lol, your not kidding, can't believe the response already.

bring it on!! :)

Your gonna get more jokes than 118.I'd like to give it a bash aswell please.

I like to give it a bash aswell.

There's your first one. Not sure how you'd draw it though.

I'd be up for the gag writing - or the single-pic caption contest that Griff suggests. Sounds fun.
