Screenwipe is my new favourite show, after being a long fan of his Guardian column ( http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/charlie_brooker/index.html ) and his writing work on Nathan Barley and Brasseye I discovered his brilliant BBC4 show "Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe", Which is like a more sweary and cutting version of TV Burp, with some genuinely interesting segments about how the British TV industry works.

I think it's safe to say I'm not clever. I much prefer Harry Hill because he makes me laugh. Not this smug bloke!

Do you think? If anything I would say he was largely self-deprecating, unless you find his forceful opinions a little snobbish. Can't please them all I suppose.

I think the fact that he presents it in the dark, only lit by the glowing from his television says everything.

He's bloody hilarious, I can't wait for the next series, hopefully with more episode.

Love Charlie Brooker's stuff. I've been an avid fan of his Gaurdian* column and his TV show is wonderfully acerbic. I find myself agreeing with most of what he says... which probably means I'm getting old.

*I'd have used 'sic' here... but that would have been incorrect...

Another Charlie Brooker fan here. The first I knew of him was when I discovered his Screen Burn article about Gillian McKeith and "You Are What Yout Eat" on the Guardian Web site. I've read Screen Burn ever since and think it transferred really well to TV.

I don't find him smug at all. I think Harry Hill's TV Burp is great too. Much more gentle of course but then he is limited by being on at 5.30pm or so on a Saturday.
