It's the same with tennis players bouncing their balls.
Both help players focus.
And hats off to Trump for a great afternoon session.
Even if Ronnie wins, I can't imagine someone called Trump just accepting the result
The Crucible Curse strikes again! Another reigning Champ gone in opening round to a qualifier. More than happy with that, good player but not really box office and gives the fan favourites more of a chance, like Ronnie Trump. 👍🏻
Once, during a match, Alex Higgins bought me and my friend a pint of lager, as long as I fetched him one too.
Alex Higgins came in to my old local pub a few years back ( I think maybe to get some Cocaine from what I hear )He played a game of pool with the pub youngster and finished with a 5 cushion black pot which we all loved, great stuff
Then I'm at the bar next to Alex both trying to order a drink, while a fight has broken out around the pool table as to who gets to play the Hurricane next, if he plays again
He turns to me and says, if the press get hold of this you know they'll blame me ( I'm pretty sure that was the gist )
SO that was nice I had a brief convo with Alex Higgins once.
Epilogue:
I forgot to mention he was wearing a big Fedora, and also that he came in with two massive bottles of Champagne, both of which had been nicked by the time he left
A famous (at the time) (1980s) professional snooker player came to play at our local club.
He did an exhibition with trick shots and all that and part of his appearance was to take on the snooker team.
If you beat him, you got one of his signed special cues.
He ran out of the cues and had to promise he would send them on. He never did.

all evening? Or is just me?
Just you then. 🙂 My favourite player Mark Williams eventually got into a good run in the final session and though it came too late to change the result, it made for a great finale and reminded us of his class. Not bad for 50.
Wonder how many men are green with envy after watching Xington win, sublime snooker talent, instantly wealthy, looks ten years younger than he is, and has a very tasty bird. 💚 Some people, eh! Grrr
