I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,273

There are also videos surfacing showing that it was infiltrated by - 'some radical group.
Chanting f**k the police continuously. I can't believe that those people were just there for the sad vigil

I look forward to seeing these videos.

If that were so - outdoors - there would have been huge spikes last May and June if you remember those photos of people on the beaches over Easter and the May Bank Holidays. There wasn't.

Can't remember the dates now but there were large LOCAL spikes in many areas that saw mass gatherings like the East Midlands pub that packed a hundred young people into a beer garden with seating for 30 and saw about a quarter of them test positive for covid. There were many other such local cases throughout the year. I think the evidence was much more in tight crowdings rather than being in parks and beaches fairly well spaced. There was also a spike after the now infamous Eat out to help out scheme. There was a spike in London after pubs reopened and the streets of Soho were rammed with people.

Raised voices and non-mask wearing are the biggest contributors. Once the booze starts flowing, so does the virus.

And when it comes to anti-police sentiment, I think when one of their own has killed and dismembered a young woman - they might have to put up with a bit of stick from the crowd.

As usual, you haven't seen them so you try to cast doubt.
You think I made it up?

Any police officer will tell you they are disgusted with this man and disown him. The fact he's been to hospital twice since being arrested I think shows what they think of him, and he's been in the force less than three years. What I can't understand is why they are recruiting 45 year olds. I thought that was the age they retired.

I've just seen that one, Stephen and that's much more explicit than the one they were possibly chanting pigs pigs in. Was this the catalyst for police action as they say, or a response to it, that would be the thing to establish. But a megaphone in sight, young lefties leading the crowd in anti police chants at the bandstand as the police said, looks provocative and way off line with a 'peaceful vigil'. Where's the condemnation of them in the media?

Yes I wondered that. In the report I watched it said this 46 year old had been a policeman for 3 years - I just don't get it.

What are they doing with recruiting now........................

PC Plod: " 'Ere you, move along now, you're a blockin' the pavement. Wot? No home to go to? Have you ever thought of joining the police force? Well, 'ere's a chit - go and see Sergeant Bastard at the house with the blue light, and tell 'im Sid sent you"

I looked long and hard, I promise - so thanks for unearthing these.
I need to keep my eye on The Foxhole - know your enemy, and all that!
I think only the one with the balaclava'd gent is a worry.
The young girls shouting at the old bill is hardly evidence of infiltration.
More pent-up anger than anything else - which I assure you is genuine.
I have two daughters in their early twenties and the fear is tangible; as is the feeling that it's gone on too long and not enough is being done.
But you're right, there are trouble-makers who will use any opportunity to have a ruck.
It was still appallingly handled.

There is no way everyone on this site doesn't know that at every political/ social issue rally there are people on the fringe of it looking for trouble.
Nor should we be ignorant of the fact and there are some inside every rally that are way more antagonistic than they need be.
But we also know that in the main the rest are there over an issue that resonates and they wish to peacefully register their discord.
This problem affects all sides of the political spectrum so to extrapolate from the actions of the minority is nothing more than a ruse used by the opposition on both sides and as such is rarely credible. Be it an activist spitting at the police or pissing on war memorial they are the fringe and we all know it.
This vigil was about women wanting to show that they live in a perceived fear of attack and as such I think it would be prudent to talk about the issue that is blighting half the population rather than using piss poor tactics that dilute the issue at hand and shift it to a tiring diatribe of extremist politics.
So lets talk about small things that men in particular can do in order to help ese this burden. For instance if I am walking behind a lone women I cross the road. Its a small thing but its something and any more tips from the contributors of this page would be welcome as opposed to diverting the issue onto another one as it solves nothing.
And this is me speaking as a husband a dad and an uncle it has no political bearing whatsoever.

A vigil is a period of wakefulness during a time usually spent sleeping. It's likely therefore that the person holding the megaphone took it along in order to remind dozers of their duty to remain respectfully alert.

Of course, she might be shouting, 'F**k the police!' but can we rule out the possibility she was shouting, 'Eschew sleep!'? I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.

I'm no admirer of Clarkson but he's got the right attitude to take when it comes to Morgan. He has a history of causing trouble and deserves nothing less than a good "punch up the bracket."

They're both as bad as each other but I think I've got more time for Piers than Clarkson.

(About 5 minutes compared to none.)

He was a policeman but he wasn't really one of their own.

I went to school with someone who joined the police but was later kicked out for possessing child porn. There are obviously lots of nasty bastards in all walks of life.

Other man-babies include Donald Trump, Nigel Farage and Laurence Fox.

They're man-babies because you don't agree with their opinions?

Removed by Teddy following complaints and with an apology to all those offended by it.
