very sad, not least of all because of how modest the funeral will be.

It's a Godawful small affair.

;)

Life on Mars as an option in Pointless.

?

TV quiz has "Life" songs and you had to say who they were. Quite ironic.

Yes, the prog. announcer mentioned this as being recorded earlier, of course.

Quite. :(

Can I be the first to say I think I just saw Bowie down our chip shop...

So is it Bowie as in "take a bow" or Bowie as in "bow and arrow"? There seems to be a split in the media, although favouring the latter. Having said that his son's middle name is Zowie, which wouldn't sound right if it was pronounced as per the girls name Zoe...........would it?

Zoe Bowie or Zowie Bowie or other permutations? :S

He pronounced it as in "bow and arrow."

But who did he say he was?

He was actually Zowie Bowie and changed his name when he grew up.

I really think "Heroes" was the greatest song of the last 40 years.

Yes I did know that, ground control and now it is his middle name.

Well I still haven't watched/played the new stuff properly but having seen the excerpts on various tributes this evening the videos look extremely brave. He knew what he was doing and that he hadn't got long.

Lemmy (Motorhead) at December 28, 2015,
and now David Bowie, the hero from my youth, a part of me.

P.S. His most harmonically pleasing albums are, imho: Space Oddity, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, Hours, Heathen.

Saddened by this news. He was a true icon and his passing has opened up a void in the memory of my teenage years. I'm sure I'm not alone. RIP David Bowie.
