Somewhere not far from Patagonia, Paradise Island is inhabited almost exclusively by women: a small number of men are kept locked up and isolated for marriage and mating, but - in line with the laws of this "new world civilisation" laws, all must commit suicide or face execution after a two-week honeymoon!

For a group of four RAF airmen - Max, Arthur, Ronnie and Peter - who bail out of their stricken plane and land on the island, then, their luck looks likely to quickly run out! As yet oblivious to the nation's rules, Peter quickly meets a girl, Jani, he's smitten with, whilst Arthur catches the eye of high-ranking government official Rouana, and she'll be damned if she's going to let him get away.

With only four newcomers to choose from, the captive men on strike, and a number of recent births all male, the heaving female population is at odds over how to deal with the group and divide the men up. But this is Paradise, where the Hive rules and rules look set to be followed to the letter; much to Arthur's growing consternation!
