I am looking for somebody to write a sitcom with who has experience in writing and possibly performing comedy. I formed the comedy impro group 'Sprout' that started of with a weekly residency at the Canal Cafe theatre produced by Marc Wooton and went on to the Edinburgh festival. I also wrote for two years for Newsrevue and won the Lighthouse Media 'one minute film competition'. I have been busy bringing up my daughter as a homedad and would like to get back to my dream of writing a great sitcom. I am looking for somebody who knows comedy and knows the language of comedy and realises that writing jokes is not that difficult but that creating great characters that seem real and people genuinely care about and then putting them into funny situations that don't seem contrived( Rigsby, Fawlty, Brent etc) is really difficult. I am a bit of a perfectionist and I also I don't need to be flattered, so I'm looking for somebody whose happy to criticise and be criticised. It would be nice to write with somebody who could improvise well but I'm not into jokey 'look at me aren't I funny' improvisation more character improvisation. However that is not that important. The most important thing is originality of thought, the desire to work hard and the ability to put some emotion into the work. Oh and obviously to have some fun.
