Peckham's prodigal son, Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter has signed a deal with Ebury Publishing to write his official and unadulterated memoir.

He Who Dares... will be published on 8th October 2015 under the newly created imprint Peckham Press.

Kelly Ellis, Senior Commissioning Editor, acquired world rights in all languages from the John Sullivan Estate.

Del says: "My story can finally be read all over the world. Being bisexual in French, petit filous as they say in Normandy, I'll probably do the translation myself."

The publishers explain: "Growing up in Peckham and known to all as a wheeler-dealer and international playboy (just ask the manageress of El Sid's Torremolinos, 1978), Del matured into an award-winning man of business*, thriving entrepreneur and glittering member of the jet-set.

"In He Who Dares, Del will share never-before-told stories of his childhood, offer nuggets of business advice for budding entrepreneurs and will tell his glorious tale of rags to riches to rags to rich(ish) in full. You've heard of The Wolf of Wall Street, now meet The Pug of Peckham."

They also say: "Derek Trotter, aka Del Boy, was born in Peckham, London in 1945. A connoisseur from a young age, he spent the 1980s and early 1990s working as a market trader before his luck changed in 1996 when an antique watch hidden in his garage turned out to be worth millions.

"Sadly, Derek lost everything in a stock market crash in 2001 but his entrepreneurial spirit has never wavered. He has a significant other, Raquel Turner, and one son, Damien. He also has a soppy brother, Rodney. This is Derek's first book...and about bloody time too!"

Press officer for Peckham Press, Damien Trotter claims the new book will be the 'must-read' release of 2015: "The buzz the book has created has been off the hook! My old man's mate Trigger, one of the first to see the first draft, can't recommend it highly enough... and he can't even read. That's how good it is! So next time you pop into Waterstone's, forget your Lee Childs and JFK Rowlings, this is the only book you'll need."

Ebury Deputy Publisher Andrew Goodfellow says: "I look forward to seeing Del's autobiography on the reading list of every right-thinking business school in the land and gracing the better bookshops of Peckham this Autumn."

He Who Dares... is now available to order ahead of its October release

Peckham Press is a division of Trotters Independent Traders (New York, London, Peckham) and plans to expand to be your one-stop imprint for all the best in "really blinding adventure books, business, birds and all that".

He Who Dares... is believed to have been written by Jim & Dan Sullivan, sons of Only Fools & Horses creator and writer John Sullivan, who died in April 2011 aged just 64. The pair previously collaborated to write the 2014 Sport Relief special episode of the sitcom, guest starring footballer David Beckham, whilst Jim also wrote with his father for Only Fools & Horses spin-off sequel series The Green Green Grass.
