Networking. It's a word - and a concept - that strikes fear into the hearts of even the most seasoned comedy writers. The warm wine, the desiccated nibbles. The awkward chats. "We must have a coffee one day", "Oh, yes, we must, we must" - and you never speak to each other again.

The truth is, it doesn't have to be as bad as all that. We know writers dislike these sort of events. Producers, directors and, yes, even performers find them difficult as well.
