Radio 4 has commissioned a second series of Trodd En Bratt Say 'Well Done You'.

The "warmly absurd" sketch show, written and performed by Ruth Bratt and Lucy Trodd, pleased audiences and critics when it made its debut in June.

The Guardian called the show "a delight" whilst Metro described it as "an uproarious character sketch show: a pot pourri of the weird, the wonderful and the downright demented".

The show delivers character-led observational sketches, occasionally interspersed with moments where the stars play versions of themselves. The BBC says: "The pair honour the golden age of the double act, whilst playing everything from stag do lads trying to 'out-lad' each other, to farting choristers, to extremely loud, joke-telling tourists."

Trodd and Bratt are now writing four more 30-minute episodes. The duo will once again record the show in front of a live audience, with Adam Meggido and Oliver Senton due to return as the supporting cast members who often grumble they have been sidelined by the stars.

Series 2 will introduce a host of new characters and sketches alongside some old favourites. The creators explain: "Thandie, the faded beauty queen is still trying to find a man for her 'difficult' daughter Lily-Rose-May; Anja and Benjio are still trying to extol the virtues of 'Fings & Bobs' to the world; and the lighthouse Divas have been marooned on a desert island. And who knows, maybe Adam and Oliver will have a bit more to do in this series."

Ruth Bratt and Lucy Trodd met whilst performing in Showstopper!, the live improvised musical stage production. As they explained in this interview about creating the show, they first developed some of the characters via their 2012 Edinburgh Festival show, Well Done You, before being signed up for a Radio 4 series.

Series 2 of Trodd En Bratt Say 'Well Done You', produced by Ben Worsfield at Lucky Giant, will be broadcast on Radio 4 in 2015.

Below is an audio clip from Series 1 in which Ruth gets to perform her favourite sketch, but Lucy doesn't understand the joke:
