A sketch show written by and starring Irish actor Liam Hourican, and featuring characters such as a mountaineer who has a taste for human flesh, a driving instructor with anger management issues and a life coach with a murky past.

Then there's Louis Theroux, who goes on a really 'weird' weekend, and adult entertainment guru Peter Stringfellow reaching out to the community. Plus the newly elected Irish Prime Minister reveals some of his policies to change the world.

Our Review: Similar in style to Liam Hourican's one-off sketch show Ape on E4 in 2008, this pilot sees the Irish comic deliver various sketches and impressions.

iCandy is a very mixed affair indeed. Some of the sketches we found humour-free and too long (for example, an extended sequence watching 'Peter Stringfellow' freestyle-running was just tedious, we're not sure where the humour was meant to be in that sketch). Having said that, iCandy does deliver a couple of gems, like the scary new Irish Prime Minister attending a political conference and - as just about every review has pointed out - Hourican's impression of Louis Theroux is spot on and very funny.

Overall there's sadly more misses than hits but, given additional time for script editing and character development, there may just be a potential series in iCandy.
