Radio Times review
How do you add to what has already been said, shown and written about Charlie Chaplin? Terry Jones concludes here that Chaplin was a "genius" who "took physical comedy to new heights" - not bold claims. He laughs at clips from the great silent films, tries to imitate the Tramp's walk and in several sequences simply stands on the streets of south London reading aloud from a paperback of Chaplin's autobiography. It all feels a little undercooked, but some of the archive footage, for instance of Chaplin revisiting Lambeth in the 1960s, strikes a chord.
