On the search to help her family be more ecologically sustainable, Katherine meets activist mum Sophie who takes Katherine and Violet along to a protest against fossil fuels.

Katherine also talks to the Fisher family who take their children out of school to travel. When they reveal their motivation for living for the moment, we learn that Katherine suffers from lupus and how this inspired her to have Violet fourteen years ago.

Also in this episode, Katherine's mum Julie arrives from Canada to help look after the kids - but will she end up freeing up Katherine's time by helping or cause more problems in the household by getting drunk with Bobby or clashing with Katherine?
