Before his death on April 19th, 1992, aged 68, Benny Hill had become one of the world s most popular and recognisable comedians. He enjoyed considerable success on stage, radio, and in film, but it was through a long television career that he earned worldwide fame. Benny Hill s World Tour: Greetings from New York was his final television special, and it sees The Lad Himself transporting his brand of humour to New York City where his madcap comedy becomes close up and personal with his adoring American audience. Accompanied by his usual collection of comedy cohorts - Henry McGee, Bob Todd, Anna Dawson], Jon Jon Keefe, Johnny Hutch, Lorraine Doyle, Sue Upton, Hills Angels, and with vocal backing from the Ladybirds Benny runs through this sketch show in typical fashion while presenting cameo appearances of some of his most famous characters.
