BBC Radio Wales has ordered a third series of the comedy show written by and starring sketch group Gein's Family Giftshop.

Gein's Family Giftshop Present..., which launched on the station in 2015, sees the group enter into various comedic adventures. Premises in previous series have included them going on a tour of Wales's most-haunted locations, taking on a murder investigation, attempting to fund Wales' first space rocket, and making a trip into the hills that doesn't go to plan.

The group, who are known their dark comedic style, is comprised of Edward Easton, Kath Hughes, James Meehan and Kiri Pritchard-McLean. The four started working together post-university in Salford. Their breakthrough year was 2014 when, following a win at London Sketchfest, they went on to be nominated for Best Newcomer in the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Awards.

The new third series of their radio show will be recorded in front of a live studio audience in June.

Production company The Rubber Chicken says: "Award winning sketch group Gein's Family Giftshop have been let back on the air for a third time, thanks to their Welsh roots (and 5 star comedy jokes), so come and join them as they record three more episodes for Radio Wales and spend another 30 minutes after that doing pick ups because they can't say 'bear'."

The series will be recorded on Wednesday 21st June 2017 at The Robert Powell Theatre at the University of Salford. Free tickets

Series 3 of Gein's Family Giftshop Present... will be broadcast on Radio Wales later this year.
