BBC Radio Wales panel show What Just Happened? is returning to the airwaves on New Year's Eve, to look back at 2023.

The special follows on from the first series, which was broadcast in July. Robin Morgan will host again, with Kiri Pritchard-McLean.

The new hour-long special will be recorded at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff on 13th December. Free tickets

The synopsis explains: "What Just Happened? offers a distinctly Welsh slant on the news. Robin and Kiri will be joined by a hilarious panel of comedians and journalists all ready to skewer and satirise the past 12 months - not shying away from global stories, but always with a keen eye on what's happening here in Wales."

Robin Morgan, who co-created the format with producer Henry Widdicombe, says: "I can't wait to come back for an end-of-year special to unearth what happened in Wales and the world in 2023. I'm also thrilled to get our brilliant team back together - it makes our matching tattoos worth every penny."

Kiri Pritchard-McLean comments: "I'm delighted "What Just Happened? is back for a bumper special, if only so I can make sense of what has happened this past year. It will be a delight to talk about the big topics with top class comedians and journalists in front of a brilliant live audience in Cardiff. Let's all just promise to avoid talking about the 20mph speed limit, yeah?"

Henry Widdicombe adds: "After a successful first series, we're thrilled to get the chance to look back at the year in Welsh news and can't wait to get back in front of a live audience on the 13th December."

What Just Happened? will be broadcast on BBC Radio Wales at 1pm on Sunday 31st December 2023.
