Review - Scott Bennett: Blood Sugar Baby

If Bennett is writing a book about this troubling time, it should make a cracking read, especially when he is free of the compulsion to crack a joke every minute because of the unwarranted fear he'll lose the audience. Some chance with a narrative as compelling as this and from such a personable and witty guide through the troubling times.

Aoife Dunne review

The death of her mother may be dark subject for comedy, but Aoife Dunne beams with scintillating light when recounting the stories around it.

Harun Musho'd review

We are left asking what added value Musho'd is providing, beyond reminding us these stories exist - the shortcoming that's so detrimental to the whole show.

James Danielewski review

The content of James Danielewski's debut show is a relatively straightforward "and this is me" affair. And what he is, is gay - a fact that's the bedrock of almost all his anecdotes - Northern, and a charming, friendly comedian.

Ben O'Sullivan: Bermuda Rhombus review

Sometimes his outsider peculiarities distil into an amusingly quirky phrase, an identifiable punchline among the many 'huhs?' If only he could rebalance the hour with more of the former and less of the latter.

Jenny Eclair: Jokes, Jokes Jokes review

This is more of a storytelling show, but she's packed in more gags on stage than she did on the page.

The Iceman: The Final Block review

The Iceman is surely the act most widely cited to illustrated the weird and wonderful state of the fertile post-punk alternative cabaret circuit which birthed the modern stand-up scene.

Teenage Cancer Trust Night Of Comedy 2025 review

Massive charity gigs are there for the taking for lesser-known acts. Famous names need to just be present, offering some brand recognition to shift tickets, but those on the up can use the exposure to burnish their fan base.

The Change Series 2 review

Don't watch the second series of Bridget Christie's The Change without watching the first - and not just because you'll be missing out on three delightfully distinctive hours of television.

Ken Dodd: A Legacy Of Happiness review

A Legacy Of Happiness is a wholly positive portrayal of this comedy icon and despite promising to "reveal the private man" behind the public persona, it gives only a restricted glimpse at that more complex, possibly difficult, character. But Doddy's certainly a one-off worth celebrating.
