Phil is a comedy writer, performer and stand-up. His first stand-up tour - of south-eastern Australia in November 2024 - was a huge success. He gained his Comedy Writing MA from Falmouth University in 2024. He continues to learn the craft and is developing a strong portfolio of work for stand-up and performance, for audio, TV and online.
Phil is a lifelong comedy lover and passionate environmentalist. Combining the two is his speciality. Ask him about getting arrested for breaking into a nuclear power station, dressed as a barrel of plutonium, and other fun stories. These days the action is mostly on the page or in front of a camera or audience.
Having originally trained in journalism, Phil has always been keen to find the humanity in a story, trying to make an audience think as well as be entertained. He loves the challenge of mixing absurdity and slapstick physicality with serious issues.
