Peter Kay has announced a series of new arena tour dates. Tickets go on sale on Saturday 12th November.

Starting in less than a month's time, the gigs currently run till summer 2023, although more are likely to be announced.

His first tour in 12 years, Peter Kay Live is subtitled 'Better Late Than Never' in reference to his aborted 2018 shows, 'Have Gags Will Travel'. The extensive, 14-month, 100-date tour was cancelled just a few months after being announced, late in 2017, owing to "unforeseen family circumstances".

Kay says: "It's good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there's ever a time people need a laugh it's now. And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010."

The star's 2010 tour still officially ranks with the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest selling comedy tour of all time, having played to more than 1.2 million people across the UK and Ireland.

As BCG has previously reported, in recent months he has performed a series of top-secret warm-up gigs preparing and testing new material, increasing speculation that the announcement of a full new tour was imminent.

Twenty-two dates (listed below) have been announced today. Update: A monthly London residency at The O2 has also now been announced. See below for details.

London residency

Following the announcement of a nationwide arena tour, Peter Kay confirmed on 9th November a monthly residency at The O2, London starting on Friday 16th December 2022 and running until Saturday 18th November 2023. He will be the first performer to do a monthly residency at the arena.

He says: "Audiences in London have always been amongst the best in Britain, plus I think seeing the show could be part of a nice weekend away treat."
