It got bad reviews if i remember correctly but it was harmless.

Yep she was actually the 2nd youngest character with Rue McClahanan (Blanche) being the youngest.

Ironically Bea Arthur who played her daughter in the show is actually about a year older than Estelle was.

F**king legend! She was like a female Groucho Marx. All four of the actresses in the show had amazing timing, but Estelle and Bea Arthur were arguably the two funniest women of all time.
