Sticking this here for want of a better place.

Just playing around with this software taking the rip out of some friends of mine.

I wondered if anybody could recommend other animation programmes for the graphically illiterate?

nice little script, but why do people still use those God awful animation programs.

You might as well film 2 pebbles.

I've only just discovered them :D

Here's another one.

Marc, have you any interest in learning how to use real animation software? I don't think you need to be a great artist to produce good animations. The only advantage with these automatic animation thingies is the speed you can produce them at.

But if you're willing to take the time to create your own characters - with computer animation software, you can control them like a puppet and no need to redraw them with every new cartoon you make.

The program I use "Anime Studio Pro" for example, will take you a few hours to learn, but after that you should be on your way to your first animation.

There's even a program that can do the lip-syncing for you.

Just a thought.

Cheers Lee I will look into that. I quite like the cheesy effects with this free one, but I can imagine getting bored with their limitations quite quickly. I am rubbish at software mind, I have Final Cut Express and don't know how to use that either! Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, I can't promise it will be a walk in the park. But if you follow certain tutorials closely, you should pick it up just fine.

Speaking of tutorials...

I haven't watched any of these but have found random tutorials on YouTube to be quite useful - http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=final+cut+express+tutorial&aq=1&oq=final+cut+express

Depends what you want to create mate. I use Flash and After effects n 3d max.

Anime Studio is a good start

Cheers guys. :)

I've never used it before but this (Crazy Talk 6) looks interesting.

Oh, Mr Pie. Can you recommend any beginners tutorials for Blender? That has to be one of the most confusing/daunting programs ever.

It looks like a whole bunch of crazy, but once you get used to it then it's awesome!

Here's a whole bunch of video tutorials on getting started. I haven't watched these but if they're as good as the other tutorials on the site then they should get you up and running.
