Just checked no thread for the show. I've just started watching the final season on DVD, didnt realise Penny Marshall left in the first episode

The film is probably my favourite comedy film, well at least level with Spinal Tap.
Remember this being on UK television years ago but don't really remember anything about it. How does it compare with the film?
From what I've read, it's one of those series that seemed to last longer than it should have done, based on the ratings at least.

It was axed at the end of each season it was shown, then comissioned again when the summer reruns did well

Htv showed the first couple of seasons and then dropped it, which was standard practice for them. It then turned up during school holidays at the end of the seventies. BBC showed it as an afternoon filler a couple of years later the last time I saw it was on the late lamented Granada Plus channel.
