Fist Of Fun

This doesn't seem to have its own thread, so I'm starting one.

Anyone get both the Go Faster Stripe DVDs that came out? I've just been watching Series 2. It starts a little slowly but I'd forgotten how funny a lot of the recurring jokes are. I.e. "Moon on a stick" and Rod Hull, which both build up to a great climax in the last episode.

Now to watch the 12 hours of extras.

I'm planning to get the DVDs when they go down in price...

It was probably one of the best sketch shows of all time.

This sketch shows how amazing it was.

I'll be surprised if the price drops any time soon; it's an independent little venture, prob can't really afford to.

You want the moon on a stick, you.

That's OK I always the Goons were shit.

And their humour only appreciated by a country half starved by rationing.

Yeah, I don't like The Goons either, but love Fist of Fun. Must be a generational thing.

I mean the contemporaneous shows like Round The Horne were much funnier.

Funnily enough I heard Eric Idle on the radio the other day saying a similar thing.

Cheers!

Watching it as we speak, very funny

Them two should have done so so so much more TV work together

There seemed to be that period in the 90s when comedy was really the new rock and roll.
But Lee and Herring were a sublime double act. The curmudgeon and his childish friend and just so many characters.
