Gemma has no friends

My girlfriend wanted to go to the shops, but I wanted to make a short film (it's the first time I've ever had this feeling so her annoyance was understandable). So we compromised and I filmed her on the way to the shops! I've edited it and made what I'd like to think is sort of a mockumentary!

Please do have a look and let me know what you think! Criticism welcome!

Thanks!

Not bowled over Tim. Lol have some fun and shoot some stuff like this but think beginning middle and end and build to having a story. It's not really a mockumentary and not really a sketch. But Emma deserves an oscar for her post wall kicking acting!! Good luck with making more. :)

Haha no I can imagine not! It's not ground breaking stuff and it most certainly wasn't written, I was just seeing whether I know how to use a camera and edit in order to justify buying a decent camera (I've decided its justifyable, mainly because the little one used here has broken now)!

I've written a couple of things which I intend to film now I understand the filming process a bit better which I hope to have a beginning and middle and end, and hell, one even has a few punchlines(!) and I think they will work better as actual peices hopefully! I'll post them here once they're done.

Out of interest, as it's not a sketch or a mockumentary (which by the way I agree on both counts) what is it? Is it just it?

Thanks very much for feeding back and for watching! I'm very grateful!

Oh and gemma thanks you for the acting comment! (But remains adimant that the shopping could have got done quicker...)

Lol.

Well I think it is just what you said it was, playing around with a bit of equipment and having a bit of fun. I have been known to do similar, in fact am still planning on doing a proper little short again at some stage, but not got round to it yet. Definitely it is justified to get a better camera... always is :) What are you thinking of getting?

The world is a poorer place for having Gemma has no friends in it.

It looks like a North Korean guide to stalking women.

Thanks Sooty!

I'm not sure what kind of camera yet, nothing massively outlandish... I like the little Sony HD ones for around £250. The one I used was a £50 cheap one! Do you have any links to any shorts you've previously made as I'd love to have a look!

There are some here, will try and make a proper one this summer! :)

Awesome! Thanks, I'll have a look tonight (when I'm not at work)

I got a flipcam for £70 on eBay and it does most stuff pretty well.

Yeah like I said the one I used was only £50 from eBay's Argos outlet store section. I just would like a decent one with HD. But still small!

Thanks for the links, I had a look earlier! I particularly like the cat drinking Baileys!

Flipcams are HD

What a rude bin!

Would you believe it Gemma (as in the Gemma who has no friends) has bought me a gopro camera for my birthday!

So here is my first little clip:

Although admittedly this was just just to test the editing stuff, I have taken in the beginning, middle, end feedback... now to make something awesome... (and then post it here!

Anyway, feedback always welcome!

And yeah it was a rude bin. It wasn't until it was in the film, but then like so many before, it got into coke and hoes, just like the monkeys from the PG tips adverts... probably did.

Well I can think of no other way of describing this than me doing a silly dance to a silly song!

Any tips or comments MORE than welcome as I intend to make more

One Tip tim, and no offence - get hold of some actors! :)
