Funny song parodies - need advice

Hey guys,

I started making musical song parodies and I'm wondering if these work better when done in normal speed, or when you speed them up a bit, so that the singing becomes a bit cartoonish and 'south park' like. What do you reckon?

For example, my parody for Sandi Thom's 'I wish I was Punk Rocker', entitled 'You wish you were a Full-time Drunk'.

Here's a cartoonish version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQr2QimlVYA
And here's a normal speed version of the same song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEjoup5N1t0

Which one do you reckon works best?

Thanks so much!

Cheers,

Normal speed definitely.

Can't catch the words on the speeded up version.

Thanks guys.
Could you tell me if you couldn't understand the word even though there were subtitles there as well? Thanks again.

I prefer the normal version.
Even though there are subtitles now on the faster, cartoonish one, the speed cheapens it and just makes it seem worse.
I COULD hear MOST of the words on the cartoonish one, but the musical side of it wasn't good enough to make me want to listen to it again.
so stick with normal speed :)
