Does anybody know if there are any websites etc dedicated to local stand up nights or have info about starting with open mic / local circuit.
After a couple of months of debating whether I have the 'bottle' I think I need to give it a go and decide after my first gig.

Where are you based?
Do a Google search for comedy clubs in your area, look on Facebook for a list of open mic spots http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=15114049266&ref=ts and have a look on the Chortle comedy forums.

There is a site which lists all the open mics in my area which I use - but that might not help you.
