Crossword Puzzle

Can anyone help me with this. I have almost completed the NME monster Christmas crossword but there is just one answer I can't figure out

The clue is:

A nice, not sad, DJ I arrange to turn up for US band

It is two words. First word has five letters, second has 9
So far I have got: _A_ES A_D_C_I_N

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Janes Addiction I think!

Cheers!

It certainly fits
I don't think I would have ever worked that one out on my own

Department of Old Thread revival here....................

Love my Cryptics, but this has me flummoxed, so can anyone explain it? Please!

Article showing Nancy's tea? (3)
Answer - THE

Yes, understand "The" is an article, but WTF does the rest have to do with it?

Maybe something along these lines?

Nancy is a town in France and tea in French - and therefore in Nancy - is "thé".

Thanks Billy, as I should have twigged that, which I have now checked and yes the French for tea is thé

Which crossword?

Oh dear, this has echoes of Spanish Inquisition..................

Oh well, to hell with it.................Er, the Daily Mail, which used to be my all time favourite (did The Times for a few years, but that's not for the likes of a hobbledehoy like me), but now they have new compilers whose clues are sometimes undecipherable.

Awaits left-wing backlash.......... 😢

Murder most puzzling! Phylis Logan - the lovely Lady Jane as a drunken crossword compiler and her clever bespectacled niece. Shades of Ab Fab on Channel 5 tonight.

I picture Billy on his morning commute like Sir Humphrey, in a train carriage doing The Times crossword.
